Sun Valley holds some world-class single-track, push off on endless loops in our area. The Croy Canyon zone offers some first trails to open up after snowmelt. As the summer carries on, so do the trails to the north. Pick a half or full-day adventure and let our guides pick out the perfect experience for your group.
Check out extending your experience with a fully catered/guided trip out of Coyote Yurt. Spin endless single track through the recently burned forests, with purple fireweed poking through the charred lodgepoles.

Smiley Creek to Redfish Lake Ride
26 miles of ultra-scenic gravel roads connect Smiley Creek Lodge to Redfish Lake Lodge. This historical tour begins at the headwaters of the Salmon River and culminates on the pristine shoreline of Redfish Lake. The roads maintained in between follow the Salmon River through the heart of the Sawtooth Valley, passing by some of the oldest homesteads in southern Idaho. Until the Redfish Lake Lodge was built in 1929, few people ventured into this remote area of Idaho due to the rugged terrain that flanks all sides. Smiley Creek Lodge was built in the 1950’s as a sawmill that served the old mining town of Sawtooth City before it became one of Idaho’s most classic roadhouse waypoints.

Lodge to Lodge Hike
Starting at the historic Galena Lodge, this 8-mile hike will take you up and over the divide ridge 2,400 vertical ft above, before descending down into the Sawtooth Valley where a Can Am side-by-side will pick you up and bring you back to Smiley Creek Lodge. Established in 1879, Galena was once a thriving mining town at the headwaters of the Big Wood River. Your guide will share with you a historical perspective that will take you back in time to when the pioneers of western settlement were prospecting in some of America’s most remote terrain amidst the Boulder Mountains of Idaho. Today, both Lodges are iconic roadhouse waypoints on either side of Galena Pass that serve visitors with delicious food and libations for those who travel along the highway 75 corridor through the Sawtooth National Recreation Area.

We know you’re excited about your adventure, but please understand that we don’t give exact details of our routes before booking. As professional guides, we plan each tour based on your fitness, goals, and the ever-changing conditions of the backcountry. We don’t know yet if it’ll be the most perfect bluebird day, a heatwave, or where the wildflowers will be in full bloom on your specific date (each year it changes due to varying conditions)—but we do know that we’ll pick the perfect, uncrowded spot for you, away from the masses.
Our team goes out and does recon to make sure you have a one-of-a-kind experience—which can't be done way in advance. We’re here to guide you to those hidden gems the general public doesn’t know about. So, trust us to plan an unforgettable adventure that will blow your mind!

We require payment in full to secure a day trip reservation. Cancellations made less than 48 hours prior to scheduled trip are 100% non-refundable. Cancellations made more than 48 hours in advance will receive a 50% refund of the total trip cost.

Gratuity is not included in the trip fee. As with other service industries, it is customary to tip your guide(s) if you are satisfied with their service. A gratuity of 10-20% of the total trip fee is standard, reflecting the quality and excellence of your experience. Cash or Venmo is preferred.

Sometimes smoke from nearby or even distant fires can affect the area. We understand this can be a concern. Rest assured, we closely monitor air quality and will not take groups out when the AQI (air quality index) is above 150 where we are recreating.
Please keep in mind, because we are in a mountainous region, air quality can vary significantly between locations. What you see in town may not reflect conditions in the backcountry. What is coming in from one direction, might not be affecting another area of our permit. We adapt as needed, sometimes changing our planned location to find a pocket of clearer air. We do extensive recon to ensure the best experience and will make the call to reschedule if necessary.
If we determine conditions require rescheduling, we’ll reach out. However, if you choose to cancel on your own, our standard cancellation policy applies.
